The following studies are recruiting research participants

  • Participants Needed: Survey of professionals on a public health approach to substance use. Deadline: July 28, 2021
    • Volunteers are needed for a Canadian Public Health Association research study focusing on professionals, on a public health approach to substance use. CPHA is inviting public health, public safety, health and social service providers and other professionals and practitioners to participate in a survey on substance use. Answers will help to better understand knowledge and perspectives of substance use, and topics respondents would like to learn more about. Participation in this survey will support the creation of tools, resources and online learning modules to support the implementation of a public health approach to substance use in Canada.   • Participants Needed: Research opportunity for friends and/or family of veterans with a service dog
    • Volunteers are needed for a research study focusing on friends and/or family of Canadian veterans with a service dog. The study may involve a survey and/or interview. As a participant in this study, you will be asked to complete a 20-30 minute questionnaire through Survey Monkey. At the end you will be given the chance to enter a draw.

  • Participants Needed: Professionals and peer support workers with personal recovery experience
    • Volunteers are needed for a research study focusing on professionals and peer support workers with personal substance use recovery experience. If you are someone who has personal addiction and recovery experience and you work in a paid job position as an addiction counsellor, outreach worker or a peer-support worker in an agency that supports individuals who use drugs in Canada – we want to hear from you! You are invited to participate in a 60-min long telephone or Skype interview to share your experience of being a person in recovery while working in an agency or organization that supports individuals who use alcohol or drugs.

  • Participants Needed: FASD and substance use treatment
    • Volunteers are needed for a research study focusing on substance use and addictions treatment for adults who have, or may have, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The study team is interested in interviewing adults with FASD who have had experience of addictions treatment and caregivers of individuals with FASD who have had experience with supporting their loved ones with addictions. Interviews will be 30-45minutes and will be conducted on Zoom.                                                                                                  The study recruitment poster is available for download or you can email kapasi@ualberta.ca for more information or to participate.
