Description:  This project that will explore the barriers and facilitators to substance use harm reduction services in Lethbridge, Alberta.  People who use substances (PWUS) often have complex needs related to their substance use, yet it is unclear to what extent they have access to high-quality harm reduction services in Lethbridge (Fischer et al., 2019). Additionally, the sociopolitical context of Southern Alberta has influenced both acceptance for and availability of harm reduction services in recent years. To understand the local context, we will conduct qualitative research with PWUS and key informants to identify gaps related to harm reduction services that could be used to inform future planning, implementation and evaluation efforts.
